URMIA WORKS · PHONE MIC

Privacy policy

Effective 1 November 2026. Phone Mic is provided by Urmia Works, operated by Urmia Holding AS. Questions or deletion requests: support@urmiaworks.com.

Your microphone and recordings

Microphone access starts when you start a microphone session. The app processes your voice and effects on your phone. We do not upload your microphone audio to our servers or use it to train voice models. A foreground notification identifies a running session and provides Stop. Closing the screen does not automatically stop a session; use Stop.

Recording is optional and starts only when you select Record. Recordings stay in the app's private storage until you delete them, uninstall the app or explicitly export/share them. Exported copies are controlled by the location or recipient you choose. Imported music and recordings are processed locally. Offline text-to-speech and optional on-device captions use supported services installed on your device.

Speakers and secure Wi-Fi sharing

Live audio plays through your selected speaker. Optional Wi-Fi sharing sends mixed audio directly between two Phone Mic devices on the same private network using TLS 1.3 encryption. The receiving phone verifies the session's certificate using the private invitation you transfer from the sender. A new secret access token and certificate are generated for every session. Stop revokes access; sessions also expire after three hours. There is no cloud audio relay.

Keep the invitation private: anyone who has it and can reach the sender can listen during that session. The invitation is not saved in app preferences. Private-link screens block screenshots, and copied invitations are marked sensitive with a best-effort one-minute clipboard cleanup while the app can access its clipboard. Your keyboard, clipboard manager or any app you choose to transfer the link may have its own data handling. Transfer links directly between your devices. Direct legacy unencrypted Wi-Fi speaker casting is unavailable; use Bluetooth, USB, wired output or a second Phone Mic device.

Advertising and consent

Phone Mic can show Google AdMob banner advertisements while no audio session is active. It does not play full-screen or audio advertisements during microphone use. Advertising availability depends on Google's approval and delivery.

Google's advertising SDK may collect and share IP address (including approximate location derived from it), app/ad interactions, diagnostics and device identifiers for advertising, measurement and fraud prevention. Advertising requests use encrypted transport. Where required, Google's User Messaging Platform presents privacy choices before consent-dependent ads. You can revisit available choices in Settings → Privacy & advertising → Ad privacy choices, and manage advertising IDs in Android settings. Google privacy policy · Google partner data use.

We do not send your audio, recordings, typed announcements or feature-request messages to the advertising SDK. Google and its partners manage their own retention and user controls.

Contacting us

The Contact button opens your email app with your message and Phone Mic's version. You review and send it yourself. No recording, diagnostic log or device identifier is automatically attached. If you email us, we receive your email address, message and any attachments you choose to send. We use that information to answer your request and maintain support records as needed, including applicable legal obligations. Ask us to access, correct or delete your support information using the address above.

Permissions and choices

Microphone permission enables live microphone use. Notifications and foreground-service permissions identify an active session. Network access supports optional local Wi-Fi streaming, ad consent/advertising and links you open. The app uses Android file selection for files you choose; it does not scan your file library or contacts. There is no Phone Mic login or user account to delete. Revoke microphone permission in Android settings to prevent capture; deleting app data removes locally stored app preferences and recordings.

Children, website and changes

Phone Mic is a general party and announcement utility, not a service directed to children under 13. If you believe a child sent us personal information, contact us so we can address it. This privacy/support website is delivered by Cloudflare, which processes ordinary connection/request information for delivery and security. It includes no advertising or analytics scripts. We may update this policy when the app changes; the effective date identifies the current version.
